Dear WBC Members,
We hope all of you and your families are staying well in this difficult time.
As you know, we had originally planned to host our 2020 Merit Award Dinner (MAD) gala event today in NYC and postponed due to the pandemic. Working closely with our Keynote Speaker Brian Humphries and Sponsor Firm Cognizant, key stakeholders and the Museum of Natural History, we have rescheduled the event until later in the fall and it will now take place on Thursday, November 5th 2020. We look forward to honoring our Merit Award Winner Lori Beer Global Chief Information Officer, JP Morgan Chase & Co, our Betty Cook Winner Co-Founder and CEO Girl Rising and our 2020 Rising Star Honor Roll.
The WBC board members are concerned about the rapid spread and impact of COVID-19 on human health and wellness in the United States and the world. To this end the board is closely monitoring the dynamic and ever-evolving status of this situation and prioritizing the safety and well-being of our members.
At this time, in addition to MAD, all WBC face to face events scheduled for April through June will be suspended.
The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented time for all of us and our industry. We are encouraged by the strength, engagement and support that our corporate member firms, our board of directors, our WBC staff and our individual members have shown, and we trust our rescheduled MAD 2020 dinner will be a chance to celebrate the resilience of the financial services industry that we have seen throughout this crisis and the ways in which we have collectively continued our mission to advance women and support our NYC community.
The Board will keep an eye on the progression of the virus and remain in contact with human health and wellness professionals while following NYC guidelines and provide further updates on the November 5th event as necessary.
We wish you and your loved ones continued good health.
Stay safe and stay New York strong.
