Our Mission

Our mission is to be a powerful force for advancing women and shaping the future of the financial services industry. Our members are experienced professionals; our strength comes from convening some of the brightest minds in the industry and building bonds that support personal and career growth.

The Difference We Make

WBC aims to foster female strength and empowerment in financial services

We strive to create a future with better professional and leadership opportunities for women. Our vision is grounded in programs and initiatives that are catalysts for professional success, and contribute to positive change in the industry, our communities and beyond.
With a membership made up of experienced professionals from leading firms, WBC recognizes and connects talented women across the financial services industry. We keep the pipeline of women leaders strong and promote industry best practices.
Engagement happens in all ways, but we’re also firm believers that personal interaction and a shared focus on the WBC chapter areas maximize the impact of our volunteer hours and financial contributions. We also get to experience firsthand (and be inspired by) the positive results we’ve helped create.
Members of the Women’s Bond Club can act as a personal board of directors for one another and the high-potential women who make up our extended community. With WBC, women find their personal advisory board and the resources they need to thrive and advance others.

Our History

Founded in 1921 by Betty Cook, one of the earliest female bond traders on Wall Street, the WBC was the first organization in New York to focus on women in finance. It was rooted in the principle of “Women Helping Women.”
